Was not expecting much from this for being so small and cheap (price). Once it came though it was quieter than my older pc that had an internal CD reader I used to burn CDs to flac. It also ripped the CD faster than my old PC.. Only reason I bought this is because I am selling my old PC and my newer one doesnt have the option to have an internal disk reader. If you rip cds a lot like I do, this is great! I havent used it much for DVDs but CDs are a just fine!
