I’m giving this product 5 stars based on the amazing customer service I got after discovering an issue.
My new Win11 HP tower did not have a CD/DVD drive. I bought this one because it got some good reviews.
Unfortunately, the unit I got would not recognize a blank CD and only wrote a data DVD at 2x speed.
Since the company contacted me to see if I was satisfied, I reported the issue. I was contacted immediately by support and we tried various tests with the same result. They then sent me a new drive (in a prettier box) and it is working flawlessly. I feel the company, and especially the person I worked with, went over and above to solve the problem. Having worked in customer support, I can really appreciate the effort to make sure I was satisfied. Special shout out to Alice.
The new drive works really well. I was able to create a data CD at a burn speed of 24x, although I may stick to a slower speed just to be safe. I basically use CDs and DVDs as archival storage for photos.
In conclusion, a really good product from an amazing company.

Many new pc do not have cd/dvd drives.
Tray supports full size cd/dvd plus the smaller cd/dvd disk
PC that eject the disk, not tray will not support the smalled disk!

Customer service was fantastic. We had a problem with this device; it would not open after several months. It was long past Amazon’s return date, but I contacted the company and asked for help. They sent me several emails with suggestions, and when nothing worked, they sent me a brand new device which works perfectly! Kudos to Rick at Roofull!

Works well for reading CD/DVD discs. I initially had USB cable/power issues because I connected to USB ports that were not directly connected to motherboard. After I rearranged my computer and desk I connected directly to those USB ports and have had no issues. It’s a temporary setup for using this drive. Customer service was very good, and incredibly prompt. Haven’t used to burn or play any music or DVDs.

It plug and played on windows 11 usb port using the built in cord without any issues.
I used it to full formatted about 20 or more CD-RW disks and it worked fine.
I did not try any of the other ports.

Nice simple unit to run DVD/CD on a laptop. Most new laptops do not have a CD drive anymore. But I have numerous CD with photos on and need a way to edit/copy/print them. This unit is perfect. Plugs into a USB-A and works. When not needed goes back into a nice, included case until next time. Recommended.
